What does connecting my Instagram account allow?
Leanboat Studio uses the connection to publish approved posts to your account and to read that account’s own posts and performance. It does not follow, like or comment as you, and it does not publish anything you have not approved. Instagram itself shows you the exact permission list before you authorise.
What Studio does with it
What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t act like you. No following, unfollowing, liking or commenting on your behalf, ever.
- It doesn’t publish unapproved work. The week reaches you before anything is scheduled.
- It doesn’t reach other accounts. Only the one you selected during connection.
- It has no inbox. There is no screen anywhere in the product that shows your private messages, because reading conversations is not part of what this does.
Read the consent screen, it’s the real contract
When you connect, Instagram shows you exactly which permissions are being requested, in its own words, before anything happens. That screen is authoritative in a way a vendor’s marketing page can never be. Read it, and if something on it doesn’t match what’s on this page, trust the screen and tell us.
Undoing it
Two ways, and the second doesn’t involve us at all. You can disconnect the account inside Studio, or you can revoke access from your own Instagram settings, which works whether or not we cooperate. That is how it should be, and it’s worth knowing before you connect rather than after.
